Thermador Range E43 Error

The Thermador Range E43 Error code indicates a sail switch error. The sail switch is located in front of the air vent and is activated when the cooling fan starts to operate. If the sail switch is not in the correct position or if the cooling fan stops working, the switch will not activate, and the control panel will display the E43 error code.

Possible causes:

The sail switch must be positioned directly behind the cooling fans. If the switch is not correctly aligned with the fans, insufficient airflow may cause the fan to shut down, resulting in code 43.

To resolve the issue, reposition the sail switch.

1. Remove two screws that are securing the switch mounting plate to the cooling fan housing.

2. Reposition the mounting plate on the fan housing so that the right screw hole on the plate is aligned with the center screw hole on the right edge of the fan housing.

3. Reattach the switch mounting plate to the fan housing using one of the original screws. The bottom of the switch mounting plate must be parallel to the bottom of the fan housing.

4. Carefully drill a new hole in the fan housing by using the left mounting plate screw hole as a guide.

5. Do not let metal shavings fall into electrical components.

6. Insert the remaining screw to fully secure the switch mounting plate in the new position.

Additionally, if the cooling fan is faulty, it needs to be replaced.
